4 Ingredient Paleo Sandwich Bread

Most Paleo Sandwich Breads that I’ve purchased at the store have been unimpressive, to say the least. I was so happy to stumble upon this recipe when we made it on Episode 13 of my TV show, Camille’s Paleo Kitchen. It is SO easy to make. It really cannot be messed up. My only two points of caution are that you may want to use parchment paper to make it easier to take out of the pan and also test the middle with a stick to make sure it’s totally cooked since the batter is very dense when cooked in a traditional loaf pan.

Paleo Sandwich Bread (Just 4 main ingredients!)

Adapted from Once a Month Meals- Episode 13 of PaleoKitchen.tv

  • 2 cups Almond Flour
  • 2 cups Tapioca Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoons Sea Salt
  • 8 Eggs
  • 1 cup Applesauce
  • 1 tablespoon Coconut Oil or ghee

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a large bowl combine first 4 ingredients and blend. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add eggs and applesauce. Stir until fully blended and all lumps removed, but don’t over stir!
  2. Grease loaf pans or line with parchment paper and divide the batter between the 2 pans to make loaves. If making "minis" like on the show, grease muffin tins.
  3. Bake for approximately 35-50 minutes for loaves or 15 minutes for muffins, or until a toothpick test comes out clean. My general rule of thumb is that when you begin to smell it (provided you have a decent sense of smell), its nearly done and should be checked.
  4. Bread will keep for about 5-7 days in a ziplock bag, or you can slice and freeze, toasting individual slices as desired. This is a great recipe to make in a large batch so you can freeze extra loaves and always have something on-hand.
